I don’t know if I was meant, or needed to watch this movie, at this time in my life.
I’m a dad, father of 3 grown babies. I cried and I cheered. wow.!!
My loss has been my right eye.
best of wishes to Bethany.
I have a 3yr. old son who was born with no arms. We also have a friend who is 12 yrs old who was born with no arms and no legs. We have all met Nick V. and would love to connect with you if possible. My young friends mom and I will be in Kona September 8th-15th. I don’t know any other way to get ahold of you to connect. If you get this, please get ahold of me. Thanks

Bethany Hamilton,
You are very inspirational, and Soul Surfer made me cry my eyes out. My grandpa is completely blind, and he is a musician. I have only met him when I was 15 months old; however, it reminds me of you in the way that both of you are pushing for your dreams. Thank you for not giving up, because you are truly a living miracle that I am thankful for every day. Thank you for everything you have done, especially for the Friends of Bethany. You have given me so much to look forward to.
Love,
Emily<3
Hey Bethany
I saw soul surfer and it really made me think about how I live my life and the way I treat people. I have seen the movie twice and both times it has really inspired me to live my life to the fullest no matter what happens. Thank you for your courage. I love you as my sister in Christ.
Sincerely,
Kenneth
Bethany! I just wanted to tell you, you are so inspirational! For you to continue what you enjoy and love even though tragedy struck, you kept going and that’s so awesome. I watch the movie, Soul Surfer every day to keep my hopes high and to let me know that if Bethany can fight through all of that, i can with stand anything that happens in my small town life. You’re such an inspiration and you’re so strong. Thank you for being who you are and never losing faith. ♥
Bethany,
You are truly an inspiring person, and Soul Surfer inspired me. Now, I want to surf sooooooo badly, even though I don’t have a board. I even wrote a project on you and your passion for surfing. I REALLY want to meet you one day, and also one day I want to get a surfboard by Rip Curl. I live in PA, so i don’t have a very good access to Rip Curl. I’m only in 6th grade, so i really can’t do anything about it, either. But, if i do get a board, I want to become just like you, Bethany. Best wishes to you, Bethany!!!!!!
Bethany, you inspire many people including me. After watching the movie about you, i really want to surf. Even though I live in Indiana one of my dreams is to become a surfer like you. I hope we meet someday. God Bless
Bethany
You are so insprational. When my friend first told me about you and the movie Soul Surfer I thought BORING!!! but now when my dad got it out from the video store I didn’t want to return it. It really made me think of how lucky i was. I really want to surf one day but the waves are mostly tiny here in New Zealand. You are my role model. I hope we meet someday, God Bless.
Your numbber 1 fan Brianna!!!!!!!
Friends of Bethany Foundation would like to invite you to Princeville at Hanalei Community Association’s “Movie in the Park,” featuring the inspirational, featured film “Soul Surfer.” Mark your calendars for September 17th and check back soon for more details!

i love you
SOUL SURFER, the feature film about Bethany Hamilton’s inspirational story, was presented by the Hawaii Ocean Film Festival and the Waipa Foundation. These events are normally ticketed, but with Friends of Bethany’s sponsorship, the movie was presented to the community FREE of charge!
What a beautiful and special night it was under the stars (and a few clouds!) in the charming town of Hanalei, Hawaii.

“I used to play soccer on this field” Bethany fondly recalled as she and her family said a few welcoming words to the 1000+ attendees. They noted how special it was to have SOUL SURFER showing for free to their friends & community as a “Mahalo” (Thank you) for all the support over the years.

Friends of Bethany volunteers passed out bookmark flyers for the foundation before the film started, while Bethany took pictures with fans and friends.

(L to R) Becky, Noah, Cheri, Bethany, Tom Hamilton, Sarah Hill (played by Carrie Underwood in Soul Surfer), Tim Hamilton, Sonya Balmores-Chung (plays “Malina”).
The film began after sunset. Despite a few bouts of rain, the majority of the guests stayed til the end of the film and it was, all together, a beautiful evening!

I just wanted to say that your movie was an absolute pleasure to watch with my 6 and 4 yr old girls. It was so refreshing to see someone actually admit to loving and believing in JESUS CHRIST at that level. I am absolutely inspired by your story. I am going to buy this movie for my church and show to the young ones there. We have a woman there who lost her arm a few years ago in a car accident. Then this year her husband committed suicide. She is raising three kids all by herself and she inspires just like you do. I thank you for being who you are and for being my sister in faith. Sincerely, Clint McCance.
